Why a Catch Can on the 2.7L EcoBoost
The second-generation 2.7L EcoBoost uses both port and direct injection. The added port injection helps keep the intake valves clean, but it doesn't protect the rest of your engine from blow-by. As blow-by flows through the intake it coats sensors and the intercooler in a sludge of oil, carbon, and fuel - reducing how well they work.
Worse, blow-by that makes it back into the cylinder can lower your fuel's effective octane. On a high-strung turbo engine like the 2.7L, lower octane means less power. A catch can keeps that blow-by out of the loop entirely.

Engineered for Real Separation
Each can uses an internal baffle and air turbulators to condense oil, fuel, and water vapor out of the blow-by, plus a low-restriction composite filter that captures carbon particles. The cans are billet 6061 aluminum sealed with Viton O-rings, and the internals are fully cleanable and reusable.
A sturdy 2.5mm-thick steel bracket mounts the cans away from engine vibration and stands up to rough roads and off-road abuse. Patent US D884,760 S.

Includes molded hoses designed specifically for the 2.7L EcoBoost with pre-installed factory-style quick-disconnect fittings, so everything snaps into place without cutting or splicing.
In 2023, Ford's ECM changed how it monitors crankcase pressure - Mishimoto redesigned this system to meet those updated factory specs, so it's a true direct fit for 2023+ trucks.

⚠ Installation Note: The factory breather hose is attached with tamper-proof fittings that may break upon removal. Mishimoto's hoses are fully compatible and removable should you ever need to take the system off. If you need to replace your OEM line, the Ford part number is MB3Z-6758-C.
