FitCamX Integrated OE Style Dash Cam — 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL
A dash cam that looks like it came from the factory — built into the overhead housing, powered from the mirror plug.
Looks Factory, Records Like a Pro
Most dash cams look like an afterthought — a suction cup on the glass and a cable running across the headliner. The FitCamX integrated dash cam for the Jeep Wrangler JL takes the place of the overhead housing cover, so the camera sits right where the factory equipment lives and the cabin stays clean.
It records 4K video with a wide 170° front view, saves collision footage automatically, and sends clips straight to your phone over WiFi.

Choose Your Overhead Housing
Wrangler JL overhead housings come in two styles. Pick the one that matches yours.
2018-2023 Style (HD2-D4800)
Earlier-style overhead housing, found on most 2018-2023 Wrangler JL models. In the photo this is the housing on the left.
|
2024+ Style (HD2-D4820)
Updated overhead housing, found on most 2024+ Wrangler JL models. In the photo this is the housing on the right.
|
It is not always a clean model-year split. Adaptive cruise control, the rearview mirror setup, and other overhead equipment can change which housing your Jeep has. Compare your overhead housing to the photos above rather than going by model year alone.
2024+ Style (HD2-D4820) warning: the plug and play install is not compatible with vehicles that do not have the auto-dimming rearview mirror plug. If your Jeep does not have that plug, choose OBD Port Power under the Power option.
 |
Plug and Play Power — Factory Auto-Dimming Mirror Required
The camera is powered from the auto-dimming rearview mirror plug in the overhead housing. There is no fuse box tapping, no A-pillar removal, and no power adapter in the console — you unplug the connector, plug it into the dash cam, and the camera takes over from there.
This only works if your Jeep came from the factory with an auto-dimming rearview mirror (the mirror that has the plug). If yours has a standard mirror, use the OBD cable kit below instead.
|
No Auto-Dimming Mirror? Choose OBD Port Power
If your Wrangler does not have the factory auto-dimming mirror plug, select OBD Port Power under the Power option for just $20 more. The OBD cable kit is included with your dash cam — it plugs into the OBD-II port under the steering wheel, with no fuse box wiring needed.
The same cable also enables parking mode (24-hour recording while the engine is off), with built-in low-voltage protection that shuts the camera off below 11V to protect your battery. You can also switch it to ACC mode so the camera records only while the engine is running.
Have the factory auto-dimming mirror and just want a clean install? Leave Power on Auto-Dimming Mirror for the true plug and play install.
Want parking mode and have the auto-dimming mirror? Choose OBD Port Power too. The mirror plug alone does not give you parking mode, so the OBD cable is the way to get 24-hour recording even on a Jeep with the factory mirror.

Upgrade to Sony STARVIS 2 for Better Night Footage
Want the clearest image after dark? Choose a STARVIS 2 kit under the Setup option. STARVIS 2 is Sony's second-generation low-light sensor. Compared to the standard sensor it delivers noticeably better night footage, wider dynamic range and improved HDR so headlights and streetlights do not blow out the frame, and sharper detail in shadows.
Available as STARVIS 2: Front 4K 64GB or STARVIS 2: Front 4K + Rear 2K 128GB. If you drive at night or want clear plates and faces in dim conditions, this is the one to get.

🔧 Not Sure Which Style You Have?
Every unit is built for a specific overhead housing, so we confirm it before your order ships. After you order, you will get an email asking for a photo of your overhead housing, taken from the angle shown in the product photos. Reply with it and your camera ships within 1-3 business days of confirmation. Standard delivery after that is typically 8-12 business days. If you are unsure, send us a photo before you order.
FAQ
|
Which style do I need, 2018-2023 or 2024+? Match the overhead housing in your Jeep to the comparison photo. Most 2018-2023 Wrangler JL models use the earlier housing (HD2-D4800) and most 2024+ models use the updated one (HD2-D4820), but adaptive cruise control, mirror configuration, and other overhead equipment can change that.
Does the 2024+ Style work without an auto-dimming mirror? Not with the plug and play install, which needs the auto-dimming rearview mirror plug. If your Jeep does not have it, select OBD Port Power under the Power option and the camera is powered through the OBD port instead.
Does it need any wiring? Not with the plug and play install. The camera is powered from the factory auto-dimming rearview mirror plug in the overhead housing, so there is no fuse box work and no A-pillar removal. If your Jeep does not have the auto-dimming mirror, choose OBD Port Power under the Power option and the OBD cable kit is included.
Does my Wrangler need the auto-dimming mirror? For the plug and play install, yes — the Jeep must have the factory auto-dimming rearview mirror. Without it, choose OBD Port Power under the Power option so the camera is powered through the OBD port.
|
What if I order the wrong style? After you order, we email you to confirm your overhead housing from a photo before anything ships, so a mismatch gets caught. Sending a photo ahead of time speeds that up.
What memory card is included? A 64GB card comes with the 4K front and 2K dual cam kits, and a 128GB card comes with the 4K dual cam kit.
How do I get parking mode? Select OBD Port Power under the Power option (+$20). The OBD cable enables 24-hour parking mode with low-voltage protection. This applies even if your Jeep has the factory auto-dimming mirror — the mirror plug alone does not give you parking mode.
Is the OBD cable included? Yes. Select OBD Port Power under the Power option (+$20) and the OBD cable kit ships with your dash cam. It also enables parking mode. OBD Port Power is available with both the 2018-2023 Style (HD2-D4800) and the 2024+ Style (HD2-D4820).
What does STARVIS 2 add? A Sony second-generation low-light sensor with noticeably better night footage, wider dynamic range and sharper shadow detail than the standard sensor.
How do I get footage onto my phone? Connect to the camera over its built-in WiFi with the FitCamX app (iOS or Android) to watch live view, play back clips, and download footage without pulling the SD card.
