BRONCO Hood Overlay
Long before the Bronco came out it has been customary for off roaders to put matte material on their hood to cut out glare. This glare can come from the sun or lights mounted above the vehicle's hood.
Not only does it serve a function (potentially depending on the color you choose), but it can add some contrast and style at the same time.
NOTE: 2 sets are sold at a reduced price. Keep it as a backup or in case your first install proves to be difficult.
We're starting off offering 3 different types of materials. All of these materials are sourced in the US and are a premium choice for your vehicle.
Matte black is one of the easiest colors to install in general. It stretches and responds to heat very well.
The gloss black we chose has air egress channels and that is why it is a little more expensive than standard colors. Air egress channels assist in providing a path for air to escape during installation (less bubbles). Some cost is also due to the fact that it is cast versus calendared.
General Formulations 3D carbon wrap also has air egress channels and a textured, dark appearance. We've used it for tons of accents. To clean, use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It'll look great! Don't use any type of wax.
All options have high outdoor durability ratings.
Clean the application area to prepare it for installation. Just use a wax free detailing spray if your vehicle is not too dirty.
NOTES: We recommend that the installation area be free of wax and not under direct sunlight.
- Detailing Spray
- Soapy Water (we recommend our StickerFab Installation Fluid)
- Heat Gun or Hair Dryer (optional)
- Supplied Felt Tip Squeegee
Wet installs require one drop of dish or hand soap in a cup of water. Apply to the vinyl so that the first attempt doesn't make the vinyl permanently stick to the surface. Then you can slide it around and push out the extra water once it is in place with your squeegee.
Try doing the install in the shade so it doesn't heat up the vinyl rapidly.
Watch our video for more details. We purposely did a long installation and did not skip any parts. You may fast forward and rewind at your own leisure.
Was easy and looks great.
I found that the glare off the hood to be a little annoying and the hood overlay definitely took care of it. Installation was pretty straightforward. I would definitely recommend having a helper with the application. Also, a wet install, in my opinion, is a must. Fit and finish is spot on. Would highly recommend. AATW Brother.
Looks great!! Nice addition to enhance the look of my Bronco. Thanks again
The hood overlay looks great on the Bronco. I had another person to help with the install, which made it a lot easier.
Looks great. Bought the 2-pack just in case and only used one. Surprised of how easy it was to install using the wet method. Just make sure to watch the instructional video. Either way glad to have a back up.
This was a peace of cake to install using excessive amounts of soapy water. My only complaint is the concave line at the back edge of the hood isn't perfect, and it left an exposed line of paint. See pics. I couldn't move it further back because then it wouldn't match the line at the front of the bulge.
