These bolt on parts increase the angle of the rear seats which provides better comfort for rear passengers. Just like when you're in economy seats of an airplane, a vertical seat position can place strain on your neck and down your backside.
This angle increase relieves some of this pressure and makes it easier for rear seat passengers to enjoy the ride and maybe even catch a quick nap.

I really like these as they cover the edges of the door sill not just the surface, are easy to install as you can adjust the alignment without losing the adhesion. I got the 3 D version and they look great and do not interfere with the door closure where you would have to slam the door to close it as other products might do if they are too thick.
