Did you know that Subaru actually makes JDM trim pieces with textured vinyl pre-installed? We found that out with the last generation of parts we imported. For the same look, you can actually apply the vinyl yourself. It will give it a textured appearance and covers up minor scratches.
This material is durable and will last for years.
For the 3D Carbon material, do not apply wax. Just clean with normal soap and water. The appearance can be further enhanced a lot by the use of 303 Aerospace Cleaner.
Comes with 4 individual pieces.
CUSTOMER MESSAGE - "Got them just now, thanks for including a(n) extra set! I've had 2 sets of CF look ones from another seller and silver stars kept peeling and the carbon look faded really bad."
When purchasing vinyl overlays, keep in mind that not all materials are created equally. I use premium vinyl which has high initial costs, but are the industry standards for high quality materials. The air egress liner also aids in large graphic application. - Minimum application temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit. - Up to 5 year durability outdoors. Rated EXCELLENT for WATER RESISTANCE, HUMIDITY RESISTANCE, and SOLVENT RESISTANCE.
Clean the surface of the trim. Make sure it is free of any residue including Armor All or other protectants. Since this is a large piece, we do recommend doing a wet install with StickerFab Application Fluid. If you need a microfiber cloth, felt tip squeegee and application fluid, check out this kit here. You can spray both the application area and the back of the vinyl.
The ideal install temperature is 75 degrees. Get in your vehicle and make sure the trim piece and vinyl are that temperature. Use your AC or heat to achieve it. Since these are very thin vinyls you want to make sure it is not excessively hot in your vehicle!
Do not install with the sun blazing on your dash!
NOTE: Initial placement of the vinyl will dictate if you have even coverage. Make sure you are able to center the vinyl.
We recommend aligning the center back first and then working your way towards yourself. Once you are done with this piece, move on to the area surrounding it. Then install the front and smaller remaining piece.
If you have to use light heat and pressure on the corners, go ahead. That is how you activate the adhesive on this vinyl.
The DIY install will leave you proud of the work you've done. A great conversation piece as others will probably want to know how you did it all.
